6) Get notified by sell alerts
The step-by-step tutorial to get started with Crypto Excel.
I) Sell alerts
A sell alert is triggered as soon as a cryptocurrency’s price:
Reaches one of the target levels (TP1, TP2, or TP3), or
Falls below the stop-loss threshold (SL).
When this happens, the corresponding cryptocurrency line is highlighted.
Alert colors
Each type of alert has a distinct color:
Stop-Loss (SL) -> Red
Take-Profit (TP) -> Blue
Faded blue for TP1
Medium blue for TP2
Bright blue for TP3
In the video below, we simulate the display of all four alerts (TP1, TP2, TP3, and SL) by successively adjusting Solana’s price thresholds to match the current market price.
Double-click or press the “F” key to display the video in full screen.
Display of alerts
The highlight extends to the column corresponding to the alert level (TP1, TP2, TP3, or SL).

Additional information appears directly inside the alert cell:
Exit percentage
Capital to withdraw
These values reflect the parameters you previously defined in these windows:
“Strategy” (see 4) Set up exit positions)
“Sell alerts” (see 5) Generate automated positions).

Monitoring indicators
At the top of the “Objectives” panel, indicators continuously show the number of active sell alerts in your portfolio.

Applying (or not) your strategy
Pour perform the sale:
Log in to the exchange or wallet holding the cryptocurrency affected by the sell alert.
Sell the amount corresponding to the exit percentage defined in your strategy.
Example: you hold 1 BTC.
TP1 target price reached, exit percentage set at 10%.
-> You sell 0.1 BTC.
Then, add the “Sell” transaction to your dashboard (see 3) Add and edit transactions).
Finally, update your strategy.
-> This update clears the highlight associated with the alert on your dashboard.
II) Follow Notifications
As seen earlier, any unprocessed sell alert remains visible on your dashboard.
These alerts can continue to evolve, making it difficult to track what exactly happened in your portfolio.
To address this, Crypto Excel offers two complementary tracking methods.
Via the side panel of your dashboard
Click the bell icon in the top-right hand corner of your dashboard.
A sidebar will open, summarizing all status changes for your sell alerts.
New target reached:
nothing -> TP1
TP1 -> TP2
TP2 -> TP3
nothing -> SL
Return to a previous target:
TP3 -> TP2
TP2 -> TP1
Expired alert:
TP1 -> nothing
SL -> nothing

Receive a daily email
You can also receive a daily summary email of all alert status changes, automatically sent at the time of your choice.
With this option, there’s no need to check your dashboard to stay informed.
To activate this option:
Click your profile icon to open the dropdown menu.
Select “Notifications”.

In the “Receive Notifications” pop-up window, fill in the following fields:
Time: Choose the desired sending time (UTC+2).
Email address: Enter the address where you wish to receive the daily email.

You’ll receive the email every day at the chosen time, with a summary of recent events.
If multiple status changes occur for the same cryptocurrency within the last 24 hours, only the most recent one will appear in the email.

To deactivate email notifications:
Clear the email address field.
Click “Confirm”.
III) Minimum Profit / Loss condition
The “Generate automated positions” window contains a third line that we have not yet covered:
Minimum Profit / Loss

This option allows you to add an additional condition for displaying sell alerts, based on a minimum profit or loss threshold.
Thanks to this condition, sell alerts will not be displayed for cryptocurrencies that represent too small a share of your portfolio (those whose sale would have a negligible impact on your overall profitability).
This setting helps avoid alert overload in portfolios containing many cryptocurrencies, allowing you to focus on the ones that truly matter.
The values entered must be strictly positive, even in the case of losses (Stop-Loss).
Alert activation criteria
Once this setting is enabled, a sell alert will only appear if both of the following conditions are met:
For TP1, TP2 and TP3:
The current price is above the target price (TP1, TP2 or TP3) AND
The unrealized profit exceeds the minimum profit treshold.
For SL:
The current price is below the stop-loss limit treshold (SL) AND
The absolute value of the unrealized losses exceeds the minimum loss treshold.
Example:
In the video below:
Solana’s exit positions were set manually.
Bitcoin’s exit positions were generated automatically.
As soon as the Minimum Profit / Loss condition is enabled, the sell alert will no longer trigger, even if the price targets are reached.
Double-click or press the “F” key to display the video in full screen.
